Martha Robles knows that divine intervention through a Gospel Center Rescue Mission employee is what ultimately set her life on a positive path. Now that she is clean and sober, she is a highly respected, hard-working volunteer giving back to Gospel Center that gave her the strength to leave her life on the streets. Her story begins as the daughter of a seasonal farm worker. With no financial support other than the fields, Martha, along with her three siblings, worked with her mother on farms throughout the Central Valley. Her mother was stern and non-nurturing – a “tough cookie” as Martha described – and the family eventually landed at the Migrant Farm Center in French Camp.
